Description

When shifting gears in motorsport, especially on dog box transmissions with shift cut, significantly higher forces act on the shift cables than during normal shifting operations on synchronized series transmissions. The OEM shift cables are generally not designed for these extreme loads. In addition, OEM shift cables often have flexible elements installed for vibration damping, which, in combination with the Heep Technology Sequential Shifter, can lead to shifting problems or even misshifts.

Heep Technology heavy-duty shift cables are specifically designed for particularly tough conditions and are significantly stiffer and more resistant than OEM cables.

For applications with high heat exposure, Heep Technology heavy-duty shift cables are additionally wrapped with a special heat protection that withstands short-term temperatures up to 1650°C.

Vehicle-specific information

• The gearshift lever on the transmission is factory-fitted with a cylindrical pin D=10mm as a cable mount. This must be drilled out and replaced with a ball head D=13mm. The ball head D=13mm is included in the scope of delivery of the Heep Technology Heavy Duty shift cables.

The use of Heep Technology heavy-duty shift cables is therefore strongly recommended for all motorsport applications and/or especially in conjunction with dog box transmissions!
